I'm back on the Cape after spending last week in California hiking to the summit of Mt. Whitney in California's Sierra Nevada mountains. At 14,505ft, it is the highest mountain in the 48 States and one of the highest in North America. 22.5 hours of non-stop hiking, 22 miles round trip and over 6200ft of elevation gain. Here are some photos from the summit and also some sunrise pics captured from Lone Pine in the Owens Valley a few days before.
More photos from the trip can be found here: http://www.abmedia.com/astro/articles/whitney.html
