Here's an 180° all-sky photo of the Milky Way from Nantucket Island. Instead
of using a 8mm fisheye lens on the 6D to shoot a single exposure, I decided to shoot nine vertical
frames using a 15mm f/2.8 lens and stitched them together. The result is
a higher resolution file with more detail. Reddish airglow is also seen along
with the combined light domes from the cities in SE Massachusetts. The
blackness of the North Atlantic is evident with the exception of a few
fishing boats. Without a doubt, one of the darkest locations along the
US east coast. The others being northern and central Maine and the Outer
Banks of North Carolina.
