Antares rocket launch from Cape Cod

Who says you can't view a rocket launch from Cape Cod. Tonight's launch of the OA-5 mission showing the end of the second stage burn from the Antares rocket carrying the Cygnus cargo freighter to the International Space Station as viewed from Cape Cod, 400 miles northeast of the launch pad at NASA's Wallops Island in Virginia. The unsuspecting couple sharing a kiss on the beach was an added bonus to the shot.

Also, the photo appears on the front page of NASA's Spaceweather.com site!

Leah & Chris sneak peek - Ocean Edge wedding

Last weekend's wedding at Ocean Edge braved the high winds and rain from the remnants of Hurricane Matthew. We got a little wet but it was so worth it. Love this shot.  Even after being out in the elements, the bride's hair still looked amazing thanks to Lisa George!

South Beach dune shack under the Milky Way

Here's something a bit different than the night lighthouse shot. This is the South Beach dune shack in Chatham under the Milky Way. Erected from beach debris over the last several years, the structure, which is now also an art sculpture, is getting closer to the water.... I hope it survives the coming winter storms.

Finding Dory

This yellow dory was all the rage with photographers this past summer.  I captured it resting on the tidal flats of Cape Cod Bay late last week.  It has since been removed by its owner, most likely for winter storage.  I hope it returns next season.

This past Saturday's wedding at New Seabury Country Club had a wicked fun couple and a clear moonless night sky. I snuck them out of the reception and grabbed this snap on the golf course. The town lights of Martha's Vineyard are on the horizon under the Milky Way.
