NYC Solar Eclipse

I'm back from a one night trip to NYC where I captured the partially eclipsed sun rising behind the Empire State Building in New York City on the morning of November 3, 2013. It was a great trip, almost 600 miles round trip and 10 hours of driving to capture that split second in time when the eclipsed Sun lined up with one of the most iconic buildings in the world.

The image appeared as NASA's Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD) for November 4, 2013.

Canon USA also published it on their official Facebook page as the cover photo of the week for Nov 5-12, 2013!

National Geographic published it on their website blog!

Photography article published

So excited to receive my first copies of the December issue of Sky & Telescope Magazine which contains my article on comet photography for upcoming comet ISON! I am really pleased at how it all came together. The article covers basic to advanced techniques. Thank you to Sean Walker as well as everyone at S&T! It will be available on newsstands November 5th. Boston Moonset

I grabbed this photo of the Harvest Moon setting over the city of Boston, Massachusetts on the morning of September 19, 2013. An American Airlines Boeing 757 shares the sky as it departs from Logan International Airport. Shot with a Canon 5D & Canon EF 400mm f/5.6L lens.
